About AP4ALL
AP4ALL is a joint venture between the Maine DOE, UMS/ITS, the Maine Distance Learning Project, and high schools in Maine.
AP4ALL helps schools in Maine broaden course offerings by providing the opportunity to enroll students in online Advanvced Placement programming. Qualifying schools can take advantage of AP4ALL offerings at no cost.
Every Internet-ready computer in your school is a window to AP4ALL. Students use web-based technologies to access course content and assignments, to interact with the teacher and other students, and to submit their work. As in traditional classes, students are responsible for learning course content and completing course requirements.
The asynchronous nature of online courses means that students can attend class at any time --- before, during, or after the school day.
You can register individual students who need a course that does not fit into their regular schedules, as well as groups of students who need a course not offered by your school.
Each school that registers students must supply an on-site school mentor, who provides feedback to the teacher, keeps students on task, and ensures the integrity of students' work. It has been our experience that the school mentor is critical to most students' success.
